The Robertson and Caine Leopard 47 proved itself to be popular and remains a solid well laid out and sort after sailing vessel, with great performance under both power and sail.
This yacht has a rig that delivers easy handling and top performance. The lines controlling the foresail and main sheet terminate at the helm, making short handed sailing possible, with only the port side genoa winch isolated from the helm.
Moving forward, the vast deck space, the trampoline, and the hardtop bimini gives access to plentiful sunbathing locations and excellent access to the main sail. The hardtop bimini is a special feature, not standard for the Leopard 47, with LED variable coloured cockpit lighting and also offering the option for easy solar panel installation if desired.
Entering ‘Sundowner’ into the salon through the double outward opening glass patio style doors, the C shaped galley is forward to port, furnished with a stove, 110v appliances and a double sink with single faucet. Sundowner is outfitted with US equipment, including complete electronics, generator, and air conditioning. The C shaped salon seating is forward with a captains chart table area opposite, abaft on the starboard side. Each double cabin is serviced with its own on-suite head, with manual toilets, small vanity hand basin and separate shower stall. The vessel has ample natural light and ventilation when not supplied by the three air conditioning units from 10 opening deck hatches and 14 opening ports, with 4 more fixed tinted acrylic windows adding to the brightness of cabins and social areas.
From either side of the sugar scoops on ‘Sundowner’, access is granted to both engines from the aft lazarette style lockers, engine and transmission access is good and also gives access to the tiller style steering arms, rudder posts and crossbeam, with the generator located aft of the starboard engine.

She is currently located in St Croix USVI and available for viewing. She was in a charter fleet in the British Virgin Islands and was looked after by a full time professional maintenance crew.
