Sol Searching is a great example of a consistently maintained and lovingly upgraded Leopard 42. She began her life in the Moorings fleet. The present owners are the second owners after leaving the Moorings and have owned and cruised her since 2013. They have enjoyed sailing between Georgia, Florida, the Bahamas, the Eastern Caribbean and Grenada. Sol Searching is nicely equipped and ready to take you where your heart desires.
The 39 hp Yanmar diesel engines have received regular maintenance. The transmission is a Kanzaki KM3A1. The engines are direct drive with straight shafts, not sail drives. The propellers are 3 blade fixed. The starboard side transmission was replaced in 2020. Most of the standing rigging was replaced in 2018. The main sail is a 2007 full batten Quantum and has been sailed lightly. The 2019 furling genoa has also been lightly used. The helm electronics were all replaced in 2014 and are Garmin. These include multi-function displays at the helm and the nav. station, depth finder, anemometer, autopilot, radar and AIS. Sol Searching is equipped with an Icom VHF, a West Marine VHF and an Icom Single Side Band radio. It has 5 - 130w Kyocera solar panels, a 400w Air Marine wind generator, and a 2020 NextGen 3.5 generator. Sol Searching has a Rocna 22kg anchor with 200 feet of 3/8" chain and a Lofrans Tigress 1200w windlass.
For cruising comfort, she is equipped with Corian counters, a Force 10 2-burner stove/oven, a Sea Frost refrigerator and freezer as well as 2 Cruisair air conditioners. The owners have converted one head to a laundry room with a washer and one head to a clothing closet. These converted heads can be returned to traditional heads by the next owner, if desired. One head is electric and one head is manual. The cockpit has a full set of lower cushions.
The vessel conveys with a 2018 ZAR mini 11DL dinghy and 2013 Yamaha 15 hp outboard. The vessel will convey with an inventory of spares and some tools. The owner's personal items, some of which are in the photos, will not be included in the transaction.
