'Y-Knot' is well presented example of the popular Leopard 44 Owner's version. Built in 2013 by Robertson and Caine she was Blue Water sailed from South Africa to Florida. 

This USA Coastguard registered vessel is currently in Grenada with a deposit already paid for hurricane season storage on the hard, where she is kept each year. 

Y-Knot has been very well maintained and only ever used privately - never chartered, therefore presented in excellent condition with a great many extras added by her current owners. With an Owner's layout she would make an excellent liveaboard cruiser for a couple or family, and is equipped with everything required to sail away.

General Information

Mechanical

Y-Knot is a 2013 Robertson and Caine Leopard 44 powered by two Yanmar 39hp diesel engines. She has SD 50 saildrives which have been modified with an upgrade kit to eliminate the cone clutch slippage problems.

Engine hours are approximately: Port - 1564, Starboard - 1503

There is also a spare prop with cone nut and spacer; Racor cf500 clear bowl water separators; and auto float switch bilge pumps (1500 GPH) in each engine bay.

 

Additional mechanical equipment on board includes:

  • 6.5Kva Northern Lights Generator (932 engine hours) Upgraded with SS Elbow
  • The 33 Gal per Hour Cruise R/O Watermaker runs on 110V (Installed 2016)
  • 2 Cruiseair 16,000 BTU climate control systems which provide cooling and heating and dehumidify in all the staterooms as well as the saloon.

All standing rigging on this 2013 Leopard 44 has been inspected and tensioned as needed seasonally.

Cockpit

This Leopard 44 offers a spacious cockpit that can comfortably sit 8 around the dining table. All new outside cushion foam AFT and FWD in 2019. Y-Knot has a full set of sun/rain shades with rear screen for the aft cockpit. There's the portable cockpit DC fridge or freezer as well. Kummu Gas BBQ on the back rail (new in June 2019) with supplied propane from house tanks. One of the best features in this model is the front door and forward salon. Whether the sun is on the back or front, you will always have a nice place in the shade to relax. The door ensures a breeze to keep the boat nice and comfortable on those warm days.

Accommodation

The saloon area on this Leopard 44 has standing room of 6' 7" and is extremely well appointed. New custom Crypton antibacterial, stain resistant fabric that is both soft and strong on the cushions. There is seating for 8 around a large salon table that can be converted to a coffee table with the option of being table or coffee table height. There are a separate set of cushions that can be used to convert the salon table to a bed. For audio there is a Kenwood KMM BT515HD stereo system with 2 Bose speakers in the aft saloon and 2 in the main salon. It features Bluetooth, XM Sirius, Pandora capable, USB and aux port. There is also a 32" TV with built-in Blueray DVD Player for movie nights.

The owners version has the entire port hull dedicated to the owners, together with its own 32" Samsung smart TV, a leather sofa, and a luxurious bathroom with a walk in shower and full size quiet flush electric marine head. There is also a Splendid washing machine with optional dry cycle in its own separate cabinet.

Guest accommodation is generous with two large staterooms in the port hull, each with its own separate shower and separate bathroom with quiet flush electric marine head.

To keep you dry and comfortable underway there is a fully enclosed helm station with roll up sections for air.

Galley Equipment

The galley of this Leopard 44 'Y-Knot' is a chef's delight, with good communication to the cockpit and the helm station. There's a 3 burner force 10 stove/oven with grill (broiler). Lots of easily accessible pantry storage. Huge beverage centre. Pass through bar over the counter to outdoor eating area.

The fridge/freezer is a Vitrifrigo DW210 2 drawer. Plus an additional Norcold 45 Qt 12v DC fridge or freezer in the aft cockpit, a 3 sink arrangement, with a dish drainer in the 3rd sink. There's also an additional storage area designed for a Microwave.

She has a Mercury 15hp 2-stroke outboard engine (New November 2019), as well as an anchor with 10ft chain and rode; SS 10mm locking chain; 30' coated locking cable; and SS engine lock.

Extras included with this Leopard 44 'Y-Knot', include:

  • Airline brand diving gas powered hooka with float. Takes 4 divers to 40'- 3 to 60' - 2 to 80' and one to 100' includes the multi diver accessory splitter. 3 60' supplied air hoses and 1 100' hose with comfort swivel mouth pieces. Also weights and belts.
  • 2x aluminium 80 dive tanks
